Game Overview

The Logomotion field

FIRST Logomotion is played on a 27' x 54' carpeted field. Three robots per alliance compete on each side of the field to score points by hanging tubes on poles. There are racks in front of each alliance station, on which one hangs inflatable tubes of differing shapes and sizes. The low goals are worth 1 point each, the middle goals are worth 2 points each, and the high goals are worth 3 points each.

Also, you can use a triangle, a circle, and a square to form the FIRST logo, which doubles the score for the row.

In the autonomous period at the beginning of the game, one can score Ubertubes--a yellow circular tube that starts preloaded on the robot. These are worth double points. Ubertubes cannot be scored after the autonomous period is over.

There are four humans per team--two drivers, a coach, and a human player. The drivers control the robot, the coach plays lookout, and the human players throw tubes at the robots. Except for one human player--this one is called the Analyst, and he acts as an extra coach.

The finale of the game is played with the minirobots. The minirobots A) are made from FTC parts, B) are deployed from the main robot, and C) race up a tall pole. First place gets 30 points. Second gets 20. Third gets 15 and fourth gets 10. They must be deployed in the last ten seconds of the game. If they are released before then, the team will earn penalties. These will make or break the game for most if not all teams.
